Sara Elizabeth Genco is an upcoming indie singer/songwriter from Buffalo, NY. She has been playing guitar since her ninth birthday, and since then has added piano, ukulele, and a plethora of other stringed instruments to her repertoire to help support her alto vocals. After twelve years of lessons, performing, and songwriting, she recently graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Music, concentrated in Composition and Music Technology. She uses the sophisticated compositional techniques learned at UB combined with instinct and a free ear to create unique and rhythmic song structures. Perhaps most importantly, her songs aim to tell stories through her carefully crafted and heartfelt lyrics.
Sara Elizabeths music is inspired by artists ranging from The Beatles and Joni Mitchell, to Mumford and Sons and Ingrid Michaelson, as well as groundbreaking fingerstyle guitarists such as Andy McKee and Kaki King and so much more. Notable performances include Babevilles Ninth Ward, The Town Ballroom, Tonawanda Folk Festival, Nietzsches, Water Street Music Hall, Music is Art, and live on CW23s Winging It! Buffalo Style, and are supplemented by various coffee houses, bars, and churches around Western New York. With a plethora of influences and experiences both behind and ahead of her, as well as her extremely talented drummer and bassist that take her music to a whole new level, Sara Elizabeth ultimately hopes to stand out in the indie music scene and find out what it truly means to be an artist.
