Medusa is an non-binary alt-pop artist from Scranton, Pennsylvania, recently transplanted to Buffalo, New York. Though a classically trained pianist and at one time a young poet, they made the transition to harsher instrumentation and harder beats as a way to express their distaste for their experiences with sexism, gender dysphoria, and class divide. With biting lyrics, their music is sonically diverse but universally danceable. At times cinematic, often sugary-sweet with a poison edge, and sometimes aggressive, their sound draws from hip-hop, post-hardcore, punk, and 2000s boy-bands and teen pop idols. Big fun, big mad. Be careful.
