Black BlocWebsite: http://www.myspace.com/blackblocpe Black Bloc is the product of and inspired by many different things. From many different musical genres and thought patterns. Always about subversion and teaching and expanding thoughts. Black Bloc is not punk but it is one of the most punk things you will encounter. It is unlimited in its actions and will continue to push boundaries of what is "acceptable" musically within certain "scenes" Drawing huge influences from the militant anarchist stance of bands such as Crass and Aus-Rotten and revolutionary organizations such as The Weathermen and Zapatistas, Black Bloc began in 2007 as an outlet to express his desires for a better world and critiques of the current one in which we live. Drawing its name from an anarchist protest tactic, the project sees itself as a form of subtle direct action and a way to distribute information and exchange and evolve ideas. A devout opposer of capitalism and any scarcity powered economy, Black Bloc seeks to instill the DIY ethic in any and everybody. Playing shows is an opportunity to show anarchist action in many ways. Besides the lyrical content and principle of making sounds using no instruments and having no structure but relying completely on improvisation, Black Bloc will also try to play free shows whenever possible, accept no monetary payment from promoters, will give away all his "merch" such as hand made patches, discs of Black Bloc recorded material, DVD's of films done by friends, informational handouts and literature, and other items such as brand new shrink wrapped posters that have been tossed out into chain store dumpsters. Not trying to claim any moral high ground or better than anybody attitude Black Bloc seeks to bring every single person to the same level. Anarchy, Peace, Learn, Teach Schedule
