Ball Cheeze Psychotics

Website: www.myspace.com/ballcheezepsychotics

Formed in 1996, this trio led by songwriter Chris Humel have almost become like a myth to the local and regional scene. Never playing to trends of the time the music is a weave of rock and roll, country, blues and punk rock. They played live quite extensively from 1996-2001, where after a show at CBGB's in New York, it was time for a break. The band had until that point released 5 e.p.'s and a full length as well as appearing on a half dozen compilations. To try and describe the sound of their music would require dropping Syd Barret, The Doors, Iggy Pop, Johnny Cash, The Ramones, David Byrne and Neil Young in a musical blender - you might get yourself a glass of BCP. Drawing from so much material the live shows are sometimes a grab bag and you never know what your get. After a 2-year hiatus and the departure of original bassist Jeremy Pike, they returned in 2003 with the album "Going To Vegas". That has since been followed up with 2 more studio albums, another e.p., a live record and a greatest hits. Live shows have become far and few between these days. The band is currently working on their new 3 record trilogy entitled "Paper, Scissors, Rock".

The band is Chris Humel/Guitar and Vocals, Dan Bess/Drums, and Julio Morales on Bass.
