Configuration DanceTheatre Presented by Configuration Dance Theatre Website: configurationdance.org Artistic Director Joseph Cipolla and Catherine Batcheller founded Configuration Dance Theatre in 2000, and Cipolla, a Buffalo native, has worked diligently to establish a home for the companys operations in Western New York. That dream has recently been realized. Configuration Dance Theatre combines the discipline of traditional ballet with the exuberance of contemporary dance. The company features a continuously changing troupe of talented professional dancers who work with some of the fields most accomplished apprentice dancers. Both Cipolla and Batcheller have extensive and impressive resumes. Cipolla is a former principal dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet, and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Batcheller is a former principal with the San Francisco Ballet, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and the Stuttgart Ballet. Under their combined leadership, Configuration Dance Theatre has evolved into a 21st century forum for promoting the integrity and spirit of new and established expressions in dance.
