"Judgement" set to Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" is a riveting piece that takes the audience on a harrowing ride of a sinners afterlife. Mrs. King's choreography is full of fire and emotion with enough darkness to envelope the audience in the plight of the doomed soul. "Honor" set to Buju Banton's "Till I'm Laid to Rest" represents this choreographers journey to become an artist. As Mrs. King overcame self consciousness, battled internal fears of inadequacy, and finally emerging triumphant as a successful dance instructor, performer, and choreographer her trials shaped her creative spirit. This piece represents the journey that created the artist she has become.
