Pat O'Keefe, a man of few words, but many songs, from Brockport, New York. A world traveler, Pat has played in Chicago for 5 years, as well as collected improv training along the path to his destiny. Here in Buffalo, Pat has been a regular at Nietzsche‘s Tuesday night open mic, the “Doin’ Time Showcase”. Outside of performing, Pat is an educator of children, a profession that spills into his passion of entertaining. Pat shot a pilot episode for a children’s TV program called, " Danny's Doughnut Shop". Pat also claims the title of “polyglot”. Coincidentally, this uncommon English word means, “Master of many languages”.
Amanda D. Mulrain was born and raised in Lockport NY, and migrated to Buffalo a little over four years ago. At the moment she is both a professional barista and a student in the sciences department at Erie Community College. She has also spent time caring for an elderly woman, volunteering at the animal shelter, and cooking for Food Not Bombs. She enjoys reading, writing, travelling, philosophy, playing the harmonica and chess. Someday she wants to go live in the woods by herself with a dog. She thinks it would be nice.
Fatboy (aka: Well, that’s not important) is a veteran comic with a head for the business on the performance end, as well as the backstage side of things. The Shadow Lounge in Niagara Falls, NY formerly home to The Comedy Loft, is now home to Fatboys Comedy Club, of which Fatboy is the namesake. Fatboy is making his return to the mic after a decade long hiatus following the birth of his son. However, Fatboy has been the emcee on occasion in the early goings on his Niagara Falls club, he shows no signs of rust as he rolls into Extreme Exhibition! Lovely is a 20 year old Buffalo State College student. She is going for her Bachelor’s to eventually become a college-level English professor. She also dabbles in portrait photography on the side, and writes as poetically as possible.
Chuck Petko was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He is currently a biochemical major at Hutch Tech High School. Chuck is also a follower of the Straight Edge lifestyle, his only addiction, is comedy . His dreams of becoming a professional comedian though only being made known recently, have guided him since childhood. He hopes that through the support of friends, fans, and family, that he can one day ascend the ladder of comedy. Chuck will be making his debut at Extreme Exhibition, and hopes this opportunity will lead to a newfound throng of supporters, in his quest for greatness.
Dali's Ghost has played locally in Buffalo, NY since the winter of 2005 in a variety of venues; house parties, bars, and theaters. Thanks to the support of their loyal fan-base, they entered and won the first Battle of Original Music sponsored by The Artvoice newspaper, which featured 60 bands in Buffalo. Using the recording time awarded to them as a prize, Dali's Ghost recorded their first full length album at Buffalo's famous Trackmaster/Chameleon West studio in only two days. Comprised of eleven of their most powerful songs, the album is still only a small sampling of their large catalog which includes over 30 original compositions. They have been featured in print by the Buffalo Rising web site, Springville Journal, Buffalo's Artvoice, and broadcasted on WBFO 88.7 and WBNY 91.3. Influenced by the musical styles of funk, psychedelic, folk, jazz, and rock, Dali's Ghost melds together a variety of sounds into their own unique song structures. Originally from Utica, NY, Jason Gross is a man influenced by many. The music of Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Jack Johnson and Paul Simon among many more has guided his career. The music that Jason himself makes has taken him to a broad range of local venues including: Mr. Goodbar, Spot Coffee, Desiderios, and Clarence Center Coffee Co. After Extreme Exhibition!, Jason can be found playing a show at Merlin’s on Aug 23rd. Typically a solo artist, Jason also is playing with the concept of a band.
Rose Monique Salley is a local poet jumping into the poetry scene in the summer of 2006. She can be found at many local open mics such as the Em Tea Coffee Cup, and Hardware Cafe and more recently will begin to co-host at the Screening Room Wednesday night poetry series. Amol grew up in Pune, India where he attended school and received a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. He came to the university at Buffalo in the fall of 2001 for Masters in Engineering and graduated in August 2004. Since then he has been working in the senior management for a local software company.Amol has been writing since his high school days, he wrote for the school magazine and was the editor for the Magazine. He worked intermittently during his baccalaureate, but started working actively during his stint at the University at Buffalo. He wrote extensively for Quill: the official magazine of the UB GSA in the capacity of a staff reporter. All along he has been working on poetry and composes in Marathi, Hindi and English. Amol has been sharing his works locally in Buffalo at various poetry gatherings and recitations. Most of his work is "free-thought" that involves mostly soulful subjects that he brings forward with unparalleled passion. His admirers often compare his works with Jalludin Rumi and fondly call him the “modern day Rumi”. Currently, Amol is working towards an anthology of poems titled "Light and Dark-- the voices of the soul".
Ben Verbeck was raised all over the country in an army family. He has spent the last six years of his life in Buffalo. Ben was the winner of the Next Wave of Comedy competition in 2007. He is currently working out the details of a comedy tour called Hollyweed Live with comedian Tere Joyce and reality tv/TNA wrestling star Jonny Fairplay. He works for a tree company, owns a massive collection of 12 inch records and action figures, and has a one year old daughter.
Cassi Meyerhoffer moved to Buffalo for graduate school three years ago from Ogden, UT. She is currently finishing up her PhD in Sociology at UB. She plans to be a professor of sociology, with emphasis on social inequality. Cassi can be found playing at many of the local bars in town, as well as the open mics. She currently co-hosts the open mic at Steel Crazy with Jax Deluca every Tuesday night from 7-9 p.m.
