A gleefully inflammatory one-act comedy about love, dumb-ass rednecks, the KKK, alien invasion, furballs, and the Second Coming . . . performed in a rusty 1970s convertible -- SINCERITY FOREVER is an in-your-face theatrical extravaganza with "infringement festival" written all over it.

Winner of the 1990 Obie Award for Best New American Play, SINCERITY FOREVER was written as a direct response to right-wing Senator Jesse Helms' attack on the supposedly "impure" art funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (in fact, the author even sarcastically dedicated the play to Jesse Helms for "the fine work you are doing destroying civil liberties in these United States").

This will be the first time anyone in Buffalo has found the guts to perform one of Mac Wellman's plays. Blunt, in-your-face, over-the-top, hilariously bizarre, and always quick to mock American bigotry, Wellman writes with a totally unique voice that needs to be heard!!!

Our rendition of SINCERITY FOREVER will be no less wild than the play itself. Performed in an actual rusty old 1970s convertible on loan from a Medina junkyard, this production is loaded with weird-ass costumes, crazy props, and a healthy dose of redneck-mocking music.

Directed by Subversive Theatre's Founder & Artistic Director Kurt Schneiderman, this SINCERITY FOREVER enlists the acting talents of Peter Jaskowiak, Katie White, Betsy Bittar, Sarah Orloff, Julie Oesch, Jamie Todd Hamilton, Brian Zybala, Rich Kraemer, and Faith Wardlaw with Costume Design by Stephanie Smith and music compiled by Matthew LaChiusa.
